Our fantasy castle

September 2016 We recently made a fantasy castle using recycled materials. The children collected a whole lot of “rubbish” like empty tea boxes, shoe boxes, toilet rolls, cereal boxes, egg boxes etc. We started by piling them all up and arranging them in different variations. Even the little ones had fun by stacking the found objects on top of one another! After that we mixed wallpaper paste and tore a lot of newspaper up into strips and got our hands all gooey and slimy! On one of our parent evenings the parents even got their hands covered in slime and helped us add more shape and details to our fantasy castle. The next step was to add colour! This was not so easy as some children preferred using many colours and others wanted the entire castle blue. The majority won and the castle got the name “Elsa´s Castle” at the end of the day.
